Small Business News: New Online Resource for Unmanaged Business Travelers

New business travel page includes tool for managing multiple travel rewards programs in one place

Most small business professionals don’t have the resources of an in-house travel coordinator. In fact, many hours are often spent by traveling professionals, searching online to find the best airline deals, available hotel rooms and rental cars. If you’re looking for a way to make your business travels less of a hassle, you might be interested in a new resource launched this month by Expedia.com.

Last week, the company announced the launch of its new Business Travel resource (http://www.expedia.com/business) for unmanaged business travelers -- those who book their business travel on their own as opposed to going through a corporate travel department or full-service corporate travel management company. Expedia.com Business Travel page offers tools and information, including The MileageManager tool, which enables business travelers to manage and track multiple travel rewards program totals in one place.

Plus, the Expedia.com ThankYou rewards program takes travel rewards to a new level, allowing users the freedom to earn rewards points across multiple travel providers, and providing total choice and flexibility in redeeming rewards. And there is no need to give up current frequent flier programs -- in most cases, travelers can still earn their frequent flier program points when booking on Expedia.com by simply entering their membership number at the time of booking or check-in.

Those wanting to enroll in MileageManager can use a trial service free for 30 days. A one-year subscription is $4.95, a savings of $10 that is exclusive to Expedia customers. Additional Tools for Business Travelers and Travel Arrangers include:

  • ExpediaToGo -- No need to print out lengthy itineraries or panic because you forgot your departure time. The new ExpediaToGo service enables business travelers to send their flight itinerary to their mobile devices for easy reference while on the road.
  • Special travel deals for business travelers -- Expedia has made it easy for business travelers to find the deals that are most relevant to them by pulling deals on the most popular business travel routes and destinations into one place. These offers are consistently refreshed in order to continually bring added value to our business travel customers.
  • Tips and tools for travel arrangers -- Expedia's own professional travel arrangers compiled tips and advice on ways to more efficiently and effectively arrange travel for others.

To complement the Expedia.com Business Travel resource for unmanaged business travelers, Expedia Corporate Travel (http://www.expediacorporate.com/) offers managed travel programs for small, medium and large enterprises.
