| December 30, 2007 | | Nominations sought for small businesses that reflect teamwork, high productivity | Do you feel as though your small business is a fabulous place to work? Is your workplace a good example of a positive work environment, and are your employees happy? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you might be the perfect candidate to be named a Winning Workplace. Winning Workplaces and The Wall Street Journal are seeking nominations of exceptional small organizations – private, nonprofit or public – for their second annual ranking of the Top Small Workplaces. Contest organizers want to find small employers that foster teamwork, flexibility, high productivity and innovation while also treating their employees with respect and providing benefits, both traditional and nontraditional, that make the employee experience better. Interested? Here are some of the qualifications that could make you eligible. Each nominee must be a North American organization that: - is independent - not a unit of a larger corporation
- has no more than $200 million in annual revenues
- has 500 or fewer employees
- has been in business at least five years
The selection process will include the following steps: - Nominations due by February 1, 2008
- Nominees will be sent an online application link in February 2008
- Completed applications are due March 1, 2008
- Finalists will be selected in April
The Top Small Workplaces will be announced in fall 2008 in a Wall Street Journal Report on Small Business. Those named will be honored at a conference and celebration in Chicago in the fall of 2008.
